God's Life Lessons from His Horses!!
My wife loves to ride horses and I knew this when we met and when we got married. It was a sad day when Tami had to sell her horse to go to college and leave that life behind for the time being. I remember walks in the woods and by the rivers in Sussex talking about her riding again because she missed having a horse and even just riding a horse. Those days I always told Tami that she would have another horse again. She just did not seem to believe me.
The months and years went by and Tami talked less and less about her horse and riding and in the back of my mind I always felt guilty for pulling her away from the animal that she loved. As I got to know my wife more and more in our marriage I learned that it was her horses that had gotten her through the tough times and had gotten her through the divorce that she suffered from her parents in all of her teenage years. That is when I truly started to value and realize the importance and love that my wife found in these animals. It is when I felt that I needed to start invested in my wife's former and now revitalized passion for horses.
I have now started to take riding lessons with Tami and have started to realize the theraputic value and the depth of personality that a horse has. I have learned that they are a very intuitive beast that the Lord has created. They could be one of the most intuitive animals that has been created to walk these lands. In these times of riding and connecting with a horse I have learned how much more I have to learn to be intuitive of my wife's needs and feelings.
I may never be as intuitive as a horse but I hope to learn and become more in tune with my wife as I continue to learn to ride and learn more about these beautiful animals that God has created. Now when I tell my wife that she will have a horse again someday she believes me! I too hope to have one as well!
